Faculty in every discipline are invited to attend an all-day symposium at Metropolitan State University on Friday October 19 to consider the implications of Big Data.
A slate of nationally and locally prominent speakers will offer their experience and insights on the challenges of using increasingly massive amounts of electronic data for advancing research, technology, and productivity—not only in mathematics, statistics, natural sciences, computer science, technology, and business, but also in the humanities, medical studies and social sciences.
What is big data, you wonder? Come and find out. The symposium is intended as an exploratory, interactive forum that brings together researchers, practitioners, and educators working on different aspects of Big Data.
The symposium is FREE for MnSCU faculty, staff and students; register at http://bigdatamn2012.eventbrite.com. (Non-MnSCU participant registration is $80. See flyer for registration form.)
